I was born and raised in Southern California in a very large and colorful Mexican-American Family. I have lived in 5 different cities in the past 6 years, finding a fondness being a vagabond. I have an obsession with the my abuelas glamour shots from the 1940’s, superstitions around death and ghosts, the beauty of old homes and interiors, cultural textiles, cholos and cholas, ect. I like to depict these in paintings, drawings, comics and textiles in tedious detail and care. I received my BFA in Textiles from the California College of the Arts in 2012 and I currently live in Kansas City, MO where I continue my studio practice.
I aspire to meet Danny Trejo one day.
